The NCI-designated Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine has three satellite locations at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, and in South County.
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation recognizes cancer centers around the country that meet rigorous criteria for world-class, state-of-the-art programs of multidisciplinary cancer research. Additional criteria includes, centers that have dedicated significant resources in developing research programs, faculty, and facilities that will lead to better approaches to prevention diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Progress West’s medical staff works closely with the physicians and staff of Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. While medical and radiological oncology treatments are provided on site at Siteman in St. Peters, diagnostic testing, surgeries, inpatient, and follow-up care usually can be completed at Progress West in O’Fallon.
