Progress West is proud to partner with key local organizations to raise health literacy and support our community.

St. Charles City-County Library

Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital partner with the St. Charles City-County Library District to bring health information to St. Charles County. In 2011, the St. Charles City-County Library District was one of three public libraries in the United States to receive the Outstanding Public Library/Public Health Partnership Award because of our unique partnership. The award, sponsored by the MidContinental Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, recognizes public libraries with successful public library/public health partnerships promoting health information.

In the Middendorf-Kredell Library branch on Highway K, The Consumer Health Information section -- Your Healthy Answers Place -- has an extensive collection of materials and electronic resources on health-related issues and dedicated staff to help you find information. Both hospitals provide funding, expertise and programming. Each month, Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital host health lectures and screenings at the libraries to bring medical experts to the community.
