Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital were recently honored with several awards from Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a national research firm that conducts patient satisfaction surveys for hospitals throughout the country. BJC HealthCare has used PRC for several years to gain information about how to improve the patient experience at each of its member hospitals. Learn more.

Progress West Hospital (PWH) was recently honored by the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce as O’Fallon’s Large Business of the Year for 2012. The Chamber sought out nominations for their annual awards, and reviewed the submissions to determine how well the businesses met the desired criteria, and who from those nominated, best serve as an example to other businesses in the area.

For 12-year-old Conner Brigante, Christmas has been an opportunity to share thoughtfulness and practice the “pay it forward” concept with others for most of his life. That’s because, for the past ten years, he and his 11-year old brother, Jarred, have participated in an annual shopping trip with their parents to select and purchase toys to donate to children who are admitted to the hospital over Christmas. This year, the boys made an even greater impact and involved their entire local Boy Scout troop in the project, and donated 43 wrapped Christmas gifts to the pediatric patients at Progress West Hospital.

Progress West Hospital rang in the New Year then welcomed the hospital's first baby in 2013. Ryan Kipling Bushmeyer was born at 12:48 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
